We identify high-achieving students from township schools and unlock their global potential through international educational experiences and scholarship pathways.
Every child from every township deserves to see the world — and to be seen by it.
— Tumisang Mothebe, DirectorRea Kganya Foundation was born from a simple but powerful truth: brilliance does not belong to privilege. Our townships are overflowing with exceptional young minds who, through no fault of their own, have never been shown what is possible beyond their borders.
We seek out the highest achievers from previously disadvantaged township schools across South Africa. These are students who, despite limited resources, have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence and the hunger to go further.
We take them to the world — to universities, innovation hubs, cultural centres, and global communities — so they can see themselves as global citizens. Because once a young person sees what is possible, no one can take that vision away.

Our programme is structured to first spark curiosity and ambition, then turn that ambition into tangible international opportunity.
We identify top-performing students from township schools and take them on fully funded international educational trips. Exposure to world-class universities, museums, science centres, and cultural hubs across the globe.
With global exposure achieved and ambition firmly lit, Phase Two focuses on converting that passion into real international study opportunities — securing scholarships for our students to study at leading universities abroad.
"Be the reason a township child sees the world."
